1. Welcome to thedotcomcompany.net web solutions
Once your order AND PAYMENT is received, your account will be created and activated within 36 hours and you will received an email containing important information about your new account.

You may log into your personal online account administrator by going to our website, http://www.thedotcomcompany.net. You will use your username (ex: yourdomain.com) and password.

2.  DNS Information
 
New Domains: Once your domain is registered, your web site should correctly show up in about
24-72 hours as long as your DNS information is correct.

Transfers:

THIS INFORMATION IS VERY IMPORTANT. Your new account will not work with our servers until the DNS addresses associated with your domain name are changed to the following.
 

Before you can begin to use many of thedotcomcompany.net web solutions' services (ex: Email, Front-Page, web site, stats, and so on), your domain name must be pointed to our domain name servers.  This may take some time depending on how long it takes internet service providers around the globe to update their information.  You can begin uploading files to your account.  Once your domain is configured properly and the changes have propagated, your files will appear when you enter your domain name in your browser.

As soon as your account has been created, you may start uploading your files via your FTP program to the following address: ftp.thedotcomcompany.net with your login and password. After propagation occurs, you may alternately use ftp.yourdomain.com.

3. Upload your Files

There are two methods for uploading your content to your new web space.

A. If you utilize Microsoft FrontPage, you may enable extensions via the internet control panel and upload your files from MS Frontpage.

B. The second and most widely use method is uploading files via FTP, or file transfer protocol. Download an FTP client such as Cute FTP, LeechFTP, or SmartFTP
(you may do this from Http://www.download.com).

The FTP addresses you may use are as follows:

ftp.thedotcomcompany.com    and    ftp.yourdomain.com

Using the FTP login and password you received via email you may now upload your files!

Once you are logged into your FTP account, you will see a batch of folders. All of your files should go into the httpdocs folder. There will be no need to type example.com/httpdocs/file.htm.  Rather, you can access your site through example.com/file.htm.  All CGI-scripts must go into the CGI-bin directory.

4. Configure your EMAIL.

You may manage your email accounts via the online account administrator:
Https://www.thedotcomcompany.net:8443/login.php3

Below are definitions of the email features:
Mailbox: POP3 account used to send and receive e-mail for an individual.
Redirect: forwards mail sent to the mail name to a different given e-mail address.
Group: forwards mail sent to the email address to a group of e-mail addresses.
Autoresponders: automatic reply a defined message when email is sent to that address

There are two methods for checking your email on our servers:
A. Webmail
    You may check this at Http://webmail.yourdomain.com
B. POP3
    Using a POP3 email client such as Outlook or Eudora, you may also check your email.
    POP3 Address: mail.yourdomain.com
    SMTP Address: defined by your internet provider, usually smtp.internetcompany.com
